Customer Reviews

Love these wipes5
This is a great deal if you use these.. I use them for a multitude of chores around the house..They are so handy and wipe away the germs and bacteria at the same time

Good quality, package is bigger than it looks4
These wipes seem to be as worthy as an other I've used. They are also less apt to dry out which is good and the threading of the wipe through the hole is a lot less challenging than some other brands. Also, the package is a lot bigger than it appears on the website. It's lasted me quite a while but maybe I just haven't been cleaning as much.

IM HOOKED!!5
Im hooked!! WAY better than Lysol and Clorox. These are thick and strong. I lik everything about them, and wont be buying the other brands anymore. If you want a Tough strong whippy that cleans great...BUY THESE!!!!!

Features

  • Pack of 6 containers, each with 62 premoistened disinfecting wipes (372 total wipes)
  • Thick and strong for extra scrubbing power in your kitchen or bathrooms
  • Easy-Glide dispensing top
  • Dispense like a tissue, but they're tough like a towel
  • Kills bacteria to keep your home clean

Bounty Paper Towels, White, Regular Roll (Pack of 30)

Bounty Paper Towels, White, Regular Roll (Pack of 30)
From Bounty

Customer Reviews

Way over priced1
CVS in NYC, where prices are ALWAYS inflated, sells these for 1.30 per roll in a pack of 8.

This ends up being 1.61 a roll...........~30 cents more per roll.......not a fair price! Disappointing from amazon.com.

Why pay so much more???1
this item is way overpriced. it is available in the local grocery or discount stores for much less. good product, bad price.

Paper towels are a rip-off2
I am fed up with buying paper towels. I am switching to cloth, which works better, ends up paying for itself, and is easier on the environment.

Features

  • 56 Two-Ply 11" x 11" Sheets per Roll
  • Best Bounty ever: thicker, more absorbent, and softer
  • Thicker, deeper quilts: lock in spills, absorb faster, absorb more
  • One sheet keeps working. Get it done with one!

Happy Hands5
I have had great succses with this product, they seem a bit heavier than the standard disposable, as to the fit they are perfect for me, when buying off the rack cloth or leather gloves I find a Small a bit to snug and a medium a tad long in the fingers . I use them for the installation of grease coated kingpin locks on storage trailers they work well, just enough powder to aid in removal without a lot of residue .

The gloves should be rated Small or Medium3
there are problems fitting this glove, it is not a one size fit all. Recommended only for small hands, maybe medium. NOT for large, XL hands.

But the gloves are of nice quality , but very thin. Not recommended for harsh work. Could be used for handling babies, food, and light duty work.

Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge

Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge
From Hoover

Customer Reviews

Will never buy another hoover 1
Bought a steam cleaner and a vacuum cleaner (both hoover) about 10 months ago. Steam cleaner Worked well until now and then broke; given that i've used it for just about 4 times in the past 10 months, i would say hoover makes some of the most un-reliable machines around.

And the Vacuum cleaner never had any pressure to begin with; i just got lazy to return it.. would have returned both if i knew the steam cleaner would also fail in just a few months.

A good product5
Biggest bang for the buck! I blindly went with the reviews on Amazon and am glad to say I wasnt disappointed! Once cant expect wonders at the word 'go', but if you use it often, this one will rid you of worries and your carpet of dirt, that your vaccuums wont. Good product Hoover!

Easy to use.5
Great product. Easy to use. I have white carpets that are 14 years old and they look close to new after using this product. I used a little bleach when I rinsed my carpets with the Hoover SteamVac and they are beautiful! My house is fairly large and this unit is great for small area rugs or larger rooms with wall to wall carpeting. I used to spend hundreds of dollars each year to have my carpets professionally cleaned. This carpet cleaner did a better job than the professionals and I'm saving tons money!

Amazon.com
This powerful home steam vacuum saves you the expense and hassle of having to rent a steam cleaner and keeps rugs, upholstery, and bare floors (other than hardwoods) looking like new. The powerful 12-amp motor combined with five spinning brushes that operate at either high or low speed lift the usual dirt and grime out of carpets. By pulling on the trigger in the comfortable upright handle, this deep cleaner releases the included carpet/upholstery cleaner and hot tap water. For more stubborn stains or for high-traffic areas, this SteamVac also has a Clean Surge feature, which sends an extra blast of cleaning solution into the stain by simply pressing a button on the handle. When cleaning is complete, release the trigger and the SteamVac forces hot air into the cleaning path so you can do a few dry strokes over the stain. This deep cleaner has two separate water tanks to keep clean water apart from dirty water. The top tank holds the detergent and 1 gallon of hot water and automatically mixes the two so you don’t need to get your hands wet. The lower tank holds the dirty solution picked up from the carpet and unlatches to easily pour out into a sink without spilling. For cleaning stairs or upholstery, this deep cleaner has a long 8-foot hose and a special stair/upholstery nozzle that scrubs out spots. Other features of this deep cleaner include a brush indicator, which informs you that the brushes are spinning; an on/off foot pedal; a handle release pedal; and a 27-inch wraparound cord. The Hoover SteamVac is covered by a full one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Swiffer Wet Jet All-In-One Power Mop Starter Kit

Swiffer Wet Jet All-In-One Power Mop Starter Kit

From Swiffer

Customer Reviews

buy the clorox readi mop instead1
as i'm sure everyone else has stated; unless you're creative** you must use only swiffer wet jet solution and cleaning pads with this one.

the next problem comes when i install the wetjet cleaner bottle and it leaks.
if do not remove it promptly after every mopping session the entire bottle will dispense itself onto my floor in a very nice puddle.

considering that i must use the fairly expensive WetJet cleaning solution i have wasted far more money than this INconvenient mop is worth.

**creative endeavors:
fashion your own washable cleaning "diaper" out of and old rag wrapped with a microfiber dust cloth cut and sewn to fit the mop head - the microfiber attaches itself to the velcro that's already there. ;)

you can pop the top off the cleaning solution by running it under hot water for a few minutes which allows you to then refill with your own favorite mopping solution.

If you like this wetjet...be prepared to buy a new one every 6 months1
This product is pretty good for a quick cleanup and I find that the pads actually remove a lot of dirt. However, this darn product keeps breaking in half (at the point where the handle connects to the rest of the pole). It is so annoying!

I have now bought a similar Mr. Clean mop which has a much sturdier pole since the spray is generated by trigger action not by battery power. Therefore, no wires need to run through the poles.

I wonder how many swiffer wetjets are lying around in garbage dumps with broken handles...what a waste! It is a shame because you can't even post a review at the swiffer wetjet web site.

Neither efficient nor cost effective2
While not expensive to initially purchase, this system IS expensive in the long run. If you mop your floors regularly or have a lot of rooms to mop, you'll be constantly replacing pads and cleaner and batteries, none of which are cheap.

Additionally, this system does not clean my laminate floors well. It leaves them cloudy/hazy and they never look or feel 100% clean afterwards. When I go over with a damp paper towel where I just mopped, it always shows a fair amount of dirt. And looking at the pad when you remove it from the mop you can see why. The way it is designed, the most pressure is on the front edge of the mop. The center and back of the pad don't receive nearly as much pressure and pick up almost nothing.

In short, for small jobs and irregular cleaning, this mop will do. Otherwise, it is inefficient, expensive and ultimately frustrating.

Manufacturer’s Description
The Swiffer WetJet is an all-in-one, ready-to-use system that quickly and easily cleans even the dirtiest floors. The WetJet cleaning system is made up of three components: sweeper, triple-layer cleaning pads, and cleaning solution. The user merely runs the sweeper across the floor. Once the pre-diluted cleaning solution cuts through the dirt, the disposable pad will soak it up and trap it. Your floor will not only be clean in moments, but also dry. The sweeper is lightweight and easy to use, with a powered sprayer and flexible swivel head. The WetJet cleaning solution is available for both linoleum and wood floors, and each cartridge includes enough solution to clean at least eight large rooms.

  • Safe for wood, ceramic, vinyl and laminate floors
  • Leaves no residue
  • Do not add sprays or liquids
  • Safe for electronics and other hard surfaces
  • Great for picking up pet hair
  • Gets into hard-to-reach places

Portable Steam Cleaners Articles

Portable steam cleaners are excellent for the traveler who is particular about the cleanliness of the places they stay. Many people who spend a lot of time away from home do not want to have to purchase cleaning supplies wherever they happen to be located and perhaps not always satisfied with the job housekeeping does. That is why taking their small and practical equipment with them is the next best thing to do.
Portable steam cleaners may look somewhat like a vacuum cleaner but they are capable of doing much more. They are one of the newest trends on the market today in their category. The use of steam allows the person to disinfect and sanitize whatever it is they are cleaning at the time. Their ease of use is also an important feature that attracts interested consumers.
Portable steam cleaners are compact and have easy to use features. Their small size makes them easy to store and some come with wheels, which makes them easy to maneuver. Their size also makes it easy to get them in and out of your vehicle as well. They are easy to use and great at removing dirt, dust and germs from carpets, rugs, floors and some upholstery. You will not be inhaling harmful chemicals either.
Many sufferers of allergies love job the portable steam cleaners perform. Some people just cannot travel without one, especially if they are susceptible to allergic reactions caused by dust or dirt. Even though hotels and motels clean their rooms, sometimes it is just not enough for some people. The main cleaning agent of these little cleaners is the steam itself. The heat generated is around two hundred and forty-five degrees, which, cleans and disinfects effectively. This type of cleaning is safe and sanitary. These units provide benefits that were once not readily available in one small home cleaning system. The units feature push button controls and steam control levels as well.
The lightweight portable steam cleaners work essentially the same as the standard size units do, by spraying the water solution onto the carpeted area and then pulling it back for a deep cleaning. Although they do not have the power of their larger cousins, they offer more versatility and a better price. They also come with add-on tools for cleaning upholstery and tough to reach spots.
If used properly, portable steam cleaners are an excellent and cost saving replacement for your cupboard full of cleaning supplies. You will not need to use as much effort as either the temperature or force of steam makes up for the exertion you would normally use with liquid cleaners. Steam is a more natural way to clean and sanitize your home than using a myriad of household cleaners. It is thus more environmentally friendly. You can find a wealth of information online using your favorite search engine or you can do some research in person at a local supplier. Many different stores sell cleaning equipment so you should have numerous options in the closest city to your home.

A Guide to Deep Cleaning Your Carpets

Just about every household in America has a vacuum in the closet that someone in the house uses for everyday carpet cleaning and vacuuming which is necessary to remove loose sand, pet hair, and regular messes that end up on the floor. In order to keep your expensive carpet looking at its best, only vacuuming is not enough. Carpets need thorough deep cleaning on a regular basis. A good deep cleaning method will allow you to get the most life out of your big flooring investment. The more spills, dirt, and other "stuff" that stays on the carpet, the more the carpet wears out, and not everything is removed with a regular Singer or Dirt Devil. Once a year or year and a half, you should refresh your carpet and extend its life by deep cleaning it. The difference between a carpet that has been only vacuumed and one that has had a deep cleaning is amazing; the carpet will look so clean and smell so fresh; deep cleaning is almost like a miracle for your tired, dirty, stained carpeting.
There are several ways a carpet can be deep cleaned. You can do it yourself, if you want to give that a try, but special equipment is required and the work is difficult and time consuming. You would also need to purchase special carpet shampoo for whatever material your carpet is made of and follow the guidelines your carpet manufacturer recommends for deep cleaning your specific type of carpeting.
Although it is possible to deep clean your carpets yourself, it is probably worth the small investment necessary to have a professional who specializes in deep carpet cleaning come to your home and do it for you. A reputable company can take the worry out of the process and do a difficult job for you, and most deep cleanings are an affordable way to get the most life out of your carpet. A professional cleaning costs much less than having to buy new carpet after all.
When a professional comes to assess your carpet cleaning needs, he will be able to tell what fibers your carpet is comprised of and determine the best way to clean your rug. There are five ways to choose from: 1) absorbent pad; 2) rotary shampooing; 3) steam cleaning (extracting stains and dirt with hot water); 4) dry foam; or 5) dry extraction.
Steam cleaning is probably the most common method of deep cleaning, and either you as the homeowner or a professional can do it. The hassle of buying or renting a steam cleaner, however, makes it much more convenient to hire someone. They will bring all the necessary supplies with them, and usually carpet-cleaning companies will have two people working at once, so the job will be finished quickly. Hot water extraction, or what we commonly call steam cleaning, requires pre cleaning treatment of the carpet with a dirt-loosening solvent. Then, the steam machine injects hot water into the carpet and dirt and stains disappear up the strong suction device that picks up both the water and the nasty stuff that is making your carpet ugly and draining it of its life.
Using the absorbent pad method for deep carpet cleaning is also quite effective, as are all the methods of deep cleaning, but this is one method the homeowner really can't be expected to do. With this type of cleaning, a special machine has absorbent pads attached to spinners that absorb the stains and soil right out of your carpet.
Strong, durable carpets can be cleaned using the dry extraction method. With this type of carpet cleaning, specially made solvents or cleaners are instilled way down into the carpet fibers then, the cleaning agent draws all the dirt and other pollutants to it. Finally, the cleaning solution, stains and soil are removed with suction (vacuum).
Using the dry foam extraction method of deep cleaning is sometimes recommended for natural fiber carpeting such as woolen carpet. Similar to the other ways carpet can be cleaned, the professional carpet-cleaning employee applies a cleaning agent that becomes foam. The foam works to attract and loosen trod-in stains and dirt, and once enough time has passed for all the grime to be loosened, the foam and dirt are vacuumed away.
Rotary shampooing is just what its name implies. A special carpet shampoo is applied to the carpet and with the help of a special machine with powerful spinning brushes, the carpet is cleaned by the combination of the shampoo and the power of the rotating heads on the deep cleaning machine.
A professional can help you decide which the best option for your carpet is, and how often a deep cleaning should be done based on your lifestyle; obviously, if you have pets and or young children, your carpet would benefit by more frequent deep cleaning in addition to your regular weekly vacuuming. The best way to deep clean the carpet can be determined by the material out of which your carpet is made and the recommendations of the carpet manufacturer. Regardless of the method, regularly deep cleaning your carpets is important and will help your carpet last longer and look better.

Cleaning Carpet Stains - Harmless And Simple!

Did you know that quite a few of the common household cleaning agents you would normally reach for to clean a carpet stain will actually damage your carpet forever?

Did you know that clear liquid detergents are better for carpet stain removing than opaque ones?

How about this: When blotting to clean a carpet stain, should you work outward or inward?

Check out the tips for cleaning carpet stains below. You'll be surprised how enlightening they are, and how much sense they make.

TIPS FOR CLEANING CARPET STAINS:

1) Keep the right carpet stain cleaning supplies handy in a place all their own. Collect the following items:

A clear, see-through liquid detergent (non-transparent liquid detergents can leave a residue that attracts yet more dirt).

At least one spot remover that cuts grease, such as Energine.

Ammonia, mixed one tablespoon to one cup of water (not to be used on wool).

Non-oily polish remover.

One part white vinegar mixed with one part water.

Club soda.

White paper towels or cloths.

2) The correct way to clean carpet stains is to first collect as much of the offending spill as possible, then blot inward (blotting outward can make the stain bigger). After that, use one of the items you have gathered together specifically for cleaning carpet stains. A lot of other common cleaning products contain chemicals that can damage the rug. Rinse well with the least amount of water necessary, and then pack the stained area with white paper towels or white cloths. Weigh the area down and leave it for 24 hours.

3) You can help extend the life of your carpets by using the following preventative tips:

Use a good carpet pad. Put "walk-off matting" at all entryways, and keep them clean. Set up a system for cleaning carpets of dirt and stains regularly, and stick to it!

And remember, when it comes to cleaning carpet stains, it's like being a paramedic... the carpet you save may be your own!

Swiffer Carpet Flick Carpet Sweeper Starter Kit

Swiffer Carpet Flick Carpet Sweeper Starter Kit , 1 kit
From Swiffer

Customer Reviews

swiffer problem-no refills1
I actually liked this product a lot-however be aware that they no longer make the refills. If you like it, buy up a lot of the refills because it's your last chance.
Doesn't seem right to continue to sell a product when it won't be usable when the initial run of refills is no longer available.

inexpensive alternative to a carpet sweeper, great if you have pets3
this is a cheap alternative to a carpet sweeper, the swifter carpet "flick." it is extremely lightweight and fairly durable. you slide in little disposable sticky cards and this is what picks the debris up off your floor.

all i can say is, your kids will easily be able to handle this device and have fun with it helping you "clean" and it's nice not to have to drag out anything heavy at the end of an exhausting day.

as an extra bonus, it is IDEAL for sweeping off the top layer of pet hair that gathers on your floors, if you have furry cats or dogs. the hair gets stuck on the card, not in the rollers of a sweeper device or vacuum cleaner, and thus your carpets look better and stay fresher.

they'll probably discontinue this soon due to lack of interest so i'm gonna try and buy up as many of these sticky cards cards as possible, at least the ones that are offered at a reasonable price. this invention is worth the 11 or 12 bux.
